CDA organizes field visits for schools and nurseries

Dubai, May 10, 2009: A delegation from the Community Development Authority (CDA) and representatives from the Dubai Early Childhood Development Centre (DECDC) recently invited several schools and nurseries for a field visit of the DECDC premises.

This initiative is part of CDA’s efforts to integrate children with special needs with the mainstream, in accordance to Dubai’s Strategic Plan, which aims to enhance social development in Dubai by improving the services provided to all sections of the society.

The visit included discussions on DECDC’s mechanisms in developing the skills of children with special needs and integrating them into school and nurseries across Dubai and how schools can support DECDC’s efforts in protecting and taking care of these children.

The Community Development Authority plans to roll out many programs in the future that aim to create an environment based on social cohesion empowering the members of the community, enabling them to participate positively in its social development and protecting them by providing them a social safety net, regardless of their nationality.
