Zayed University
Proudly bearing the name of the founder of the nation - the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - Zayed University was founded in 1998 to inspire, encourage, educate, and lead a powerful generation of students. 2009 heralds a new milestone for Zayed University as the University welcomes UAE Nationals, UAE residents, and international students to campuses for men and women in Abu Dhabi, Dubai - Al Ruwayyah, and Dubai - Knowledge Village. Zayed University shares an objective with DECDC of building the capacity of UAE nationals in the field of special education and early childhood development; hence, DECDC’s collaboration with Zayed University to train its students in early intervention services. DECDC has an internship program where it allows students from disciplines such as special education, social work, psychology, physical therapy, to train and observe first hand a best practice model for early intervention programs.
Zayed University has provided logistic support to DECDC during the foundation process of its premises and continues to offer its support in any way it can.

Al Baraa KG
Al Baraa KG is a government school that caters to children ages 3 years and a half to 5 years and a half who reside in Rashidyah, Mirdiff and Nad Al Hamer. It is a primary school that was established in 1989 and currently serves 265 students.
Al Baraa KG is the first school to sign a letter of understanding with DECDC to include its children with special needs in mainstream schools. It is also among the first to lend its support to DECDC and made use of its expertise in the field of special education and early intervention by attending the first service provider training held by DECDC to the public. It is worthy to note that Al Baraa KG has had many individual efforts to try and include children with special needs with the limited resources and experience that they have in the field of special needs.

My Nursery
My Nursery is a private nursery located in Jumierah that is considered a leading bilingual nursery, which applies the formal Arabic language in its teachings. It is licensed from the Ministry of Labor and of Social Affairs and its teachers are trained according to UAE government requirements. It caters to children between the ages of 2 and 4 and provides a fun and warm environment for the children to learn. Its aim is ‘based on building each child’s character, encouraging independence, stimulating creativity and building physical abilities.’ (Source: My Nursery website)
My Nursery is among the first nurseries to show its willingness to support children with special needs and has individually accepted children with special needs in its nursery. My Nursery signed a letter of understanding with DECDC to include its children with special needs in its nursery and conveyed its intentions to use DECDC experts to train its staff in early intervention and disability. It was also among the first to allow DECDC professionals to conduct a developmental screening on the children in the nursery to screen for any at risk children, developmental delays or hidden disabilities.

Kangaroo Kids
The founder of Kangaroo Kids is an Australian National, who has not only undergone extensive training in Melbourne, Australia but also ensures that her training is continuously updated. Mainstream schools recognize kangaroo Kids as a preschool that operates innovative teaching methods, which in turn produces confident, creative and eager learners. Their vision is to be acknowledged as a leading provider of curriculum frameworks that develop a range of pathways to lifelong learning. Kangaroo Kids has shown its willingness to collaborate and work with DECDC, special needs and inclusion in many occasions. They have attended the first service provider training that DECDC has organized for teachers and special needs children in the class room. They have also accepted DECDC’s request to contact a developmental screening on the children in the nursery to yield a snapshot of the child’s developmental strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, they have signed a letter of understanding with DECDC to accept its children in the nursery.
