Service Coordinator
-
A Service Coordinator is a professional who represents a focal point of contact to families. S/he is responsible of ensuring a collaborative process of assessment, planning, intervention, facilitation and advocacy for options and services to meet the child and the family’s needs and to promote quality outcomes through communication and available resources.

Special Educator

A special educator is a professional who provides specifically designed instruction and services to children with special needs. S/he adapts and develops educational materials to match the special needs of each student and uses a variety of teaching strategies to ensure that students with special needs reach their learning potential.

Speech & Language Therapist/Pathologist

A speech and language pathologist is a professional who conducts assessment, evaluation and intervention addressed to children and adults who have difficulties or disorders related to communication, speech, language and/or swallowing.

Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists are professionals that have the capability to detect, diagnose, treat and manage health problems early on. Their treatments focus on improving gross and fine motor skills, balance and coordination, strength and endurance as well as cognitive and sensory processing.

Occupational Therapist

The occupational therapist is a professional whose goal is to enable the child to perform tasks and activities in the environment where they take place, i.e. in the home, the school and/or the playground.

Psychologist/behavior specialist

A psychologist is a mental health professional who specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders. A behavior specialist is a professional responsible for the management of behavior which involves substituting desirable behavior responses for undesirable ones. S/he applies the science of ABA (applied behavior analysis) which involves applying experimentally derived principles of behavior to improve socially significant behavior. S/he takes what we know about behavior and uses it to bring about positive change. |
