What are Social Benefits?
 
Social benefits are monetary or in-kind services provided by the government or other social institutions to Emiratis mainly and to residents based on their state, so as to improve their living conditions and help them lead a life full of security, safety and stability. 
 
The Social Benefits comprises of a Special Benefits department that provides social assistance to low-income workers so as to empower them and their families. This department provides services only to Emiratis whose family books and passports are issued in Dubai.
 
What are the Special Benefits that we deliver?
 
Housing Benefits
Housing benefits are offered to low-income workers, widows and divorced women who don’t own a house, neither hold commercial or property permits nor have leased property or real estate. The rent threshold is 70 thousand Dirhams paid for 3 years only.
 
Furniture and Air Conditioning
These benefits are provided to low-income workers only if the house were new. Bedrooms, sitting rooms, kitchens and halls will be fully furnished and equipped with curtains, sofas, beds etc… as well as all the necessary electronics namely television, air conditioners etc… for one time only.
 
Fertility Treatment
This benefit is offered to low-income workers who have no or only one child, pursuant to a medical report proving the couple’s infertility. Fertility treatment is provided 3 times within a threshold of 21 thousand dirhams, under the condition that the applicant be administered to Dubai Gynecology and Fertility Center.
 
Tuition Fees for People with Disabilities (PWD)
These benefits are provided to people with disabilities who earn low incomes. Each applicant can apply for 3 of his/her children with disabilities to be enrolled in one of the acknowledged special schools. Tuition fees will be paid up to 3 years within a threshold of 35 thousand dirhams for each child for one academic year.
 
Electricity
Electricity benefits are offered to low-income people who are moving to a new property donated by the government. These benefits are offered only once in a lifetime within a threshold of 25 thousand Dirhams.
 
In-kind Assistance
In-kind benefits comprise wheel chairs, beds adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, hearing aids, breathing and respiratory equipment as well as many other devices used by PWD. The threshold of these benefits is 30 thousand dirhams.
