Caregiver terms:
• UAE nationals holding a registration summary (family book) issued by the Emirate of Dubai and living stably and permanently in Dubai.
• A relative of the elderly or one of his friends.
• Residing with the elderly in the same residence.
• To be primarily responsible for providing care for the elderly at home
Senior citizens:
• UAE nationals holding a registration summary (family book) issued by the Emirate of Dubai and living stably and permanently in Dubai.
• Citizen aged 60 and over
• To be from the cases that are unable to take care of themselves and needs a permanent companion.
• Holder of Thukher card for elderly.
• People with limited income who are eligible for social financial benefits service from CDA under Law No. (7) of 2012 regarding social financial benefits in the Emirate of Dubai.
Case evaluation terms:
• Unable to care for themselves/totally dependent on caregiver (based on case assessment)
Terms of service (hours):
• The service is provided in the home in which the elderly resides.
• The service is provided for two hours, once a week, and continues throughout the year, according to demand
Terms of service (days):
• The service is provided in the home in which the elderly live or in a care facility based on the recommendations of the social study.
• The companion presents the reason for his request to have a rest period for days and it should be relevant to: travel, the companion’s illness, his association with matters outside the emirate that delay his presence with the elderly at home, and other reasons that are studied by the Department of elderly. Recommendations are made for approval from the administration manager.
• The service is provided for a period not exceeding (48) days a year.
