The Community Development Authority (CDA) signed a covenant for cooperation with “Al Tamimi & Co., Advocates & Legal Consultants “in line with both parties’ desire to provide legal aid and support to the Dubai community, both citizens and residents alike, so as to elevate their awareness and the proper maintenance of their legal rights to help them together live in a secure community that upkeeps the rights of its population.
The covenant comes under the umbrella of the “legal clinic” initiative kicked off last year by CDA to assist the Dubai population to benefit from the advocates and legal consultants’ expertise of defending the legal rights at competent courts and administrative bodies, and to engage the private sector in community improvement and population service.
The parties shall, within the framework of the covenant, cooperate to achieve the vision of the UAE regarding dissemination of awareness and understanding of the the legal rights in the community within a comprehensive framework, which is effective enough to accomplish the desired benefits and enhance the legal attentiveness of the people in the community.
The covenant was signed today at the CDA HQ by CDA Director General, HE Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, and Mr. Essam Al Tamimi, of “Al Tamimi & Co., Advocates & Legal Consultants”.
Julfar appreciated the commitment of the private sector towards community development and the population, and its readiness to play a pivotal role in achieving sustainable progress, which will accelerate the rhythm of community development and growth besides the consolidation of the concepts of coherence and harmony within all segments of the society.
Julfar added: “All community development initiatives rely mainly on the human assets and their awareness of their rights and obligations. Regulating the legal rights is the cornerstone of achieving a solid community system. That emphasizes the necessity of mutual cooperation with the partners of the private sector in the arena of the legal human rights.”
HE also said: “The Legal Clinic program forms a mutual platform to launch joint activity with the Dubai based legal consultation offices. The CDA strategic partners showed keen interest in the program since its inception and offered tangible legal help and awareness to a wide segment of the community. The CDA welcomes Al Tamimi & Co. cooperation and expects them to play a key role in CDA’s piloting programs that aim to upraise community awareness of maintaining the legal rights, and enrich the human rights culture in general.”
Essam Al Tamimi said that the Year of Giving motivated the parties willing to serve the community to play a greater role through their direct participation in the many significant opportunities of community development services highlighted by the CDA.

Based on the covenant, a framework shall be drawn by and between the two parties to outline the forms of cooperation en route for serving the customers. It shall include the study of the demands submitted by the applicants requesting the legal service, completion of the required documents, providing written or verbal consultations, and illustrating the legal status quo to the applicants. The covenant provides for organizing forums and lectures to spread the responsiveness about legislation, law and regulations, and enhance the legal culture in various fields.
